Globetrotting Texan trio Khruangbin present 'Maria También', the first single from their upcoming second album ‘Con Todo El Mundo'.
Formed of Laura Lee on bass, Mark Speer on guitar, and Donald “DJ” Johnson on drums; Khruangbin’s sounds are rooted in the deepest waters of world music infused with classic soul, dub and psychedelia. Their 2015 debut album ‘The Universe Smiles Upon You’ was heavily influenced by 60’s and 70’s Thai cassettes the band listened to on their long car journeys to rehearsal in the Texan countryside. ‘Con Todo El Mundo’ takes inspiration not just from South East Asia but similarly underdiscovered funk and soul of the Mediterranean and the Middle East, particularly Iran.
The video for 'Maria También' tells the story of Iranian women prior to the revolution of 1979. Celebrating their creativity, freedom and ability to express themselves, the video shows a side of women in the Middle East that often isn't seen in the Western world.
The women in the video are all part of a large network of artists, singers, dancers and songwriters who have been either exiled or silenced since the revolution. With the video, Khruangbin hopes to bring these remarkable women back into the spotlight and honor the artistry of silenced women everywhere.
Since the release of ‘The Universe Smiles Upon You’, Khruangbin have spent the past two years playing non-stop worldwide. From a European tour with Father John Misty to supporting Maribou State at Koko, a string of festival dates at Glastonbury, SXSW, Dimensions, Gottwood, Love International, The Great Escape, The Downs with Massive Attack, a joint US tour with Chicano Batman and extended headline excursions; Songkick estimates Khruangbin played around 100 gigs in the past year. The band count it at a fair few more. As a nod to their travels, Laura and Mark have been presenting a weekly “AirKhruang” DJ set live each Friday on their Facebook page, where the pair play a selection of music by artists from a particular city.

Grammy Nominated and once Judas Priest vocalist returns for UK shows.
Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens is without doubt among the most important metal vocalists of the past twenty years. When he succeeded Rob Halford, joining Judas Priest in May 1996, the press rubbed their eyes, surprised as well as impressed: Owens had previously been a fairly unknown quantity to international music journalists and only a few new of him from the band Winters Bane, but he recorded his first Priest album, Grammy nominated Jugulator (1997) with more aplomb than even insiders had expected. Following successful tours with the British metal legends, the strong studio recording, Demolition (2001), and the live recordings, Meltdown - 98 Live (1998) and Live In London (2003), and the Hollywood Blockbuster movie” Rockstar” starring Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston, that was loosely based on Tim’s experience with Judas Priest, Halford’s return put an end to Owens’ stint with Judas Priest. More or less immediately, he was enlisted by Jon Schaffer to team up with Iced Earth and sang on The Glorious Burdon in spring 2004. Three years later, Owens followed suit with the Iced Earth album, Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Pt.I), which succeeded
the self-titled highly praised debut by his own band, Beyond Fear. Spring 2008 saw Owens move on to join One of the worlds best guitar players Yngwie Malmsteen, debuting with a sensational vocal performance on Perpetual Flame.
Tim “Ripper” Owens returns to this side of the pond once more following the successful tour in 2015 and comes to the UK hot on the heels of the South American leg of his 2017 tour schedule. Playing songs from both “Jugulator” and “ Demolition” as well as songs from his extensive career.
Tim currently tours the World as a SOLO artist and performs as the Lead Singer for Beyond Fear, Dio Disciples, Charred Walls of the Damned with Richard Christy from the Howard Stern show. Tim has also started a super group called Project Rock w/ James Kottak ( Scorpions ), Keri Kelli ( Alice Cooper, Slashes Snackpit, John Waite, Night Ranger ) Rudy Sarzo ( Whitesnake, Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, Dio ) Teddy Zig Zag ( Guns N' Roses, Carol
King ) Ripper also owns a Rocking Sports eatery in his hometowns of Akron, Ohio called Ripper's Rock House!
Support comes from the newly signed NEURONSPOILER who have just inked a deal with Dissonance Productions (Diamond Head, Grim Reaper etc) and hail from London and the South West mob LADY JANE’S REVENGE.
